Surfer girl is no shopper, can’t stand the malls, and heaven knows don’t ask me to go to Walmart or the grocery store, just makes me cringe. So with this huge deal about this being the best shopping day of the year and fighting the crowds just to save 10 cents is not ideal. My idea of a successful Black Friday is to do something outside and enjoy what is hopefully a good weather day (a few years ago this was spent with the family playing disc gold in Florida in the rain and it was awesome) or if not then chill with some awesome movie or book inside with a nice glass of “SOMETHING” refreshing. This Black Friday started off just like that, mimosa and coffee with baileys to begin the morning. Then a suggestion of lunch, so being in the mood for one of my favorites Chinese assortment it was, what transpired after that was a shock. Riding in the car as a passenger with no control (not my favorite position, sort of a control freak here) we arrive at the MALL parking lot. Curious as to why this was considered an acceptable idea I ask the question – “What are we doing here?” To which I am told, I have your Victoria Secret coupons thought we would go see what they have…..well, well…. Now VS is a great online shopping experience as I know all my sizes and there is no crowd, no line, no waiting….but since we are here who am I to argue… (arguing wouldn’t have been helpful at this point – you know the old adage pick and choose your battles).
So into the mall we go, bypass all other stores, navigate through the crowd arrive in the store, b-line to what I want, know my sizes and in less than 15 mins, have selected all of my items, checked out and saved approximately $180. To which we are now leaving and it wasn’t quite as painful as I thought. Nice “sack full of goodies” in tow.
Now I have glow in the dark workout outfit along with several other selections. This outfit actually looks a bit like beach attire, imagine that…now I can run early in the morning in the dark and late at night both are the times that actually remotely fit into my schedule and I will be seen not run over. Between the new attire and the flashing accessories from my police Halloween costume I should be ultra safe. Now if I could just get that darn weather to cooperate (surfer girl doesn’t like the cold).
Not sure how your Black Friday went….kudos to those professional shoppers that ventured out early to obtain the $10 TV that the store had 4 of when you arrived. Hopefully your day was a success. Here are a few parting shots that hopefully make you smile and are not a reflection of your experience!
