Missing You Summer!

Well, it is starting to get cold and time to begin the hibernating for this beach bum.  I miss the beach, the warm sunshine on my face, the salty breeze blowing as the sound of the waves fill the air while they lap up on the shore line.  Totally miss summer and it has only been gone since September 22nd.  Daylight savings time just reinforces my downward spiral into depression.  It isn’t a manic depression or anything serious just one that leaves me craving the heat, the vitamin D that the sun provides.

I never really knew this but I suppose my body actually craves the sun as well, today I ate salmon, orange juice, had cereal and milk.  Then I read this article and well who knew…..not me but sometimes my body is smarter than me and leads me to make the right choice.

Although few foods contain vitamin D naturally, some foods are fortified with it, which means that the vitamin is added to the food. Foods that contain vitamin D include:

  • salmon
  • sardines
  • egg yolk -( would never eat this!!!)
  • shrimp
  • milk (fortified)
  • cereal (fortified)
  • yogurt (fortified)
  • orange juice (fortified)

Sort of like that saying or song “If It Feels Good Do It”  imagine that and I am a Gemini!!!

Totally dreaming of this!
