So….Yoga was both relaxing and a learning experience. Teacher has been in her position (pun intended) for more than 47 years performing yoga and teaching for greater than 40. Talk about flexible….. Much to learn here, in addition to learning paper was due yesterday, and there will be 2 more to write, I also learned we GET to sit on our mats barefooted and present our papers to then entire class, so my paper for tomorrow will be drafted in a way to capture the audience like explaining how in the heck you unite body, mind and soul…..
To quote Deepak Chopra, “Over time, yoga becomes something we live, not just something we “practice.” The inevitable pressures of life have less of an impact on us as we respond in a more conscious manner. As we become balanced and harmonious, our interactions with people and situations become more deliberate, calm, and relaxed. We bring union and harmony to every encounter, whether it’s a random meeting on the street, a talk with our child, or a family reunion. When our inner world begins to change, our outer world shifts to reflect our new perspective.” –
Not to be a smart ass (okay maybe) I don’t think he ever worked where I do – just a little levity, I think this Yoga concept/lifestyle may actually help with me outlook. After the “Relaxation” portion of class last night and finalizing with visualizing your happy place (come on everyone I bet you can guess that one – YEP a beautiful sandy beach with sun shining and waves lapping at the bank while a palm tree blows gently in the backgroud) I almost fell asleep right there in class.
Chilling in the office today hoping to accomplish much with little stress!!!! Time will tell.
Maybe I can do this by the end of the semester, or the end of the decade!
